auburn: Teyla in long coat in a foggy forest (Teyla in the Rain)

In canon SG1 the biggest clue that Sam has had problems with the glass ceiling is her first angry retort that she can do her job just as well as any man.

That's the Sam I started the story with, in fact. I re-viewed Children of the Gods for details for Jehan's backstory and she jumped out at me, because Sam then? Is not the woman of Seasons 9 and 10 or SGA Season 4. She's frustrated and angry. Which really is a more realistic picture.

Did SG-1 ever show another gate team with a woman, military or otherwise, on it? I always sort of thought the women on gate teams was an Atlantis thing, dating from when they didn't have enough personnel during season one to discriminate, not to mention Elizabeth being in charge and Teyla on the first contact team. The all woman team was SGA and so is Lt. Cadman.

The only occasion I can pinpoint another military woman went through the stargate was Janet Frasier in Heroes. I don't have an encyclopedic memory for SG-1 trivia, though...wait. Lt. Jennifer Hailey was recruited by Sam and was training for a gate team in one episode that I only know through fandom osmosis.

I wanted to shoot Kolya in the face and then have Prometheus systematically bomb the planet until they handed over the missing scientists (Not Miko and Radek!).

You'll like where this is going eventually, then. I don't mean Vala's going to nuke Genea, but eventually the scientists are rescued.

I liked Lindsey's back story.

Sweet. Lindsay's another facet - sometimes you get kidnapped by aliens and you life gets better, unlike Jehan and Vala and Mer.

except you brought aboard Teyla's necklace of DEATH, so people are totally gonna mess with them and how could you hurt her like that, when it inevitably comes out?!?! How?

Well, it really pushes the plot forward. I'm cold and calculating like that.
