I teared up when they reunited with Teyla and Ronon. I liked the slow, respectful progression of John and Rodney's relationship too, but even as much as I love John/Rodney, I'm a little surprised to find that it's the team meeting again that really gets to me. I loved that Ronon and John switched roles with one another.
I really liked that Jennifer stayed married to Rodney in order to protect his work. That's an excellent way to show that she was still thinking of him and doing her best for him, even though she moved on with her own life.
After all they've been through in canon, it almost seems a shame to strand them on an inhospitable planet for so long and have it wreak permanent damage on them. But then again, this sense of the truly alien, and the genuine day-to-day difficulty of survival, was sadly missing from the show, with the expedition settling in a hotel-like Atlantis and apparently getting along just fine on plastic-wrapped sandwiches and MREs. So it's fascinating to see that happen here.
