Laughing in the Ruins

I really like the realism to this — that a non-Ancient-terraformed world would be challenging at best for survival; that a basic mistake in math could have devastating consequences; that people might not start out with their "one true love" but live their lives in contentment anyway, making and honoring their commitments as best they can ... and that both Jennifer and Kim would reasonably look at their situations, not knowing if Rodney and John are even still alive and, if so, when they'll be back, and working out how to live on in that state, what balance to strike. No bad guys, just people trying their best — I love that.
