Loved this. Enjoyed how it was set up, back on earth with new jobs, responsibilities and significant others. Really liked Kim, could see how John would be attracted to him. Was especially pleased that John was happy with him and had bought a house and was in a registered partnership. Seems too often John is lonely and pining as everyone else is paired off. The John/Kim pairing greatly pleased me.
Great world building as the boys were stranded. Good descriptions, names and adventures, good and bad, as they learned to survive for four years in order to get back home. I loved how they cared for and needed one another and how they supported one another. Telling how John realized that their SOs would move on but Rodney was stuck in the past believing that he would pick up where he left off. Terrific scene as the jumper landed on New Athos and Torren didn't recognize the boys. Very poignant and happy scene as Teyla and Ronon were reunited with John and Rodney. Glad to see Col. Lorne and Radek had taken command positions on the returned Atlantis. Wonderfully written scenes as John talks to Kim, who assumed he would have been with Rodney. Nice to see no hard feelings. Same as Rodney facing Jennifer and understanding and moving on from there. Perfect ending as the boys head back to Atlantis together. I love the thought of the team together, at least in proximity. Excellent story and characterizations, love it when everyone is happy in the end.
